Smile Does Neo have any bones :-)

Hello! Well, my special, special baby boy, Neo, is growing into a very handsome young man But he's taken to sleeping in the most painful looking positions! Mostly, he seems to sleep with with one of his front legs sort of tucked underneath him and poking out at the side (it makes my own shoulders ache just thinking about it!). Last night, he was zonked out like this:

Is he just the worlds first rubber kitten?

Such a handsome guy. Did he have a very hard day of playing? He looks completely zonked out. I believe rubberized kitties are a Maine Coon trait. Whiskey is quite the contortionist. He too tucks one front leg underneath.

Aw, thanks, I know I'm biased but he is very handsome bless him. Glad to hear that being super bendy is a Maine Coon trait, that'll save me worrying! He goes all 'boneless' when I hold him too, he just loves being carried about - lazy boy! - he just sort of melts into me! It's lovely

I'll go to have a look for some pics of your Whiskey!

Soooo cute! How could that possibly be comfortable??? Our boys also sleep in all kinds of positions that give us a good laugh. It must be a Maine Coon trait. I don't remember any other cat we've had stretch out and twist the way Buzz and Baxter do. Well, Oscar (RIP) did but then he was a MC too.

This is my first MC, and I'm absolutely loving their special little traits and quirks! I wonder how i can pursuade the hubby that we need another to keep Neo company?

I think that MC's must have ragdoll in them somewhere as yes being all limp & bendy is them for sure,I love watching our big boy curling himself up in the hammock he ends up with legs in places that you wouldn't think possible.....part of the theory of them being related to a racoon {not true we know}is the fact that racoons lay on brancehes with everything hanging akimbo & thats what our cats do......
No persuasion should be needed it is widely known that one MC is never ever enough & if you ask Neo if he would love a friend he would say "of course" so sorry hubby stands no chance he just has to say yes......xxx

I agree with Jckkerrison. Teejay, your hubby does not stand a chance. My husband was not 100% sold on choosing two but now he is the first to admit it was one of my best ideas ever. That being said, I'm not sure he will go for a third.

Miss Pirate is also all ruberry, especially when I pick her up - I have to take her under the "arms" and as I lift the rest goes limp - and when she snoozes she snoozes, it's very hard to wake her - the other day she fell off the chair she was sleeping on and didn't even wake up till I went to make sure she was alright! (which she was, thankfully, she just blinked at me, looked around her with a dazed "what am I doing here I could have sworn I was on a chair a minute ago" look, picked herself up and went for a snack...)

I obviously didn't know what I was letting myself in for with getting my first MC It's an addiction! Obviously, i only have Neo as an example with no other kitty to compare him to, but, on reading this forum, his 'quirks' seem very much par for the course.....being obsessed with feet and hands, using us as climbing frames, loving to play with water, etc, etc!

Well, we already had three moggies when we got Neo....two 13 year old brothers and a 4 year old female. So, getting another would mean we had five cats, which hubbie has said a massive NO to!
