    Certainly if your cat starts panting for no apparent reason (e.g., not hot from playing heavily or being in the sun) or if it begins breathing rapidly for an extended period of time, you want to get it to a vet to be listened to and looked at. Panting briefly right after very active play I would not worry about at all.
