    Looking for goodies

When I started using MC the age ranges went from 4mths to six years, they loved it but although they only had restricted amounts for some reason two of them would get upset stomachs so in the end gave up on it,thats why I now use the Hills oral to give them a bigger kibble to bite on.
Glad you pointed out it wasn't for you Harrymc...

IMO, if you really want to try RC Maine Coon 31, start off with the smaller 2kg pack instead of the 10kg pack; mainly because of the expiry date OR unless you have a few coons.

I started my boys on RC Maine Coon 31 AFTER they already have their adult teeth (between 6 and 7 months). These MC kibbles are HARD. Initially they loved it but after using five 2 kg packs, they are using the kibbles as toys more than as food. Everyday, I find these kibbles all over the apartment than inside their stomach.

Thanks that's good advise. I do find that Harry seems not to chew the kibble anyway. Do you think that's normal ? he has a large ceramic bowl but never eats from the middle he leans over the top and bites the bowl as he's eating, if you see what I mean.

Drinking water has also been a problem for him, he always does the usual thing when I change the water and that's to scrape it with his paw until most of it is on the floor then almost pecks at it. He really finds it difficult to lap. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated too.

We have got a cat it fountain, which they love. It's great for us too as we never worry about them knocking it over or running out of water in the day. They drink off the side of the dome mainly but I have seen them lapping at the bowl too.

There is a bowl you attach to the side of the water bowl which we keep filled with RC babycat soon to be kitten when the bag runs out!

It needs a new filter every three weeks or so but have found an ebay seller who does six for £4.11 plus postage which is really cheap for them.

Maybe you can try using a more shallow and much wider plate instead of a bowl so that Harry will not bite on the side of the bowl.

    This may sound extreme for some pet owners, but I use 12 types (for the moment) of kibbles for my boys. I simply want them to be exposed to as many types as possible so that they will not get stuck on one or a few particular brands. I have a few food bowls laid out;

First bowl contains a mixture of several kitten kibbles [similar sized kibbles]:
    1) RC Kitten
    2) Hill's Science Diet Kitten
    3) Purina Pro Plan Kitten
    4) Wellness CORE [Protein Focused Grain Free]

    Second bowl [large sized kibble]:
    5) RC Maine Coon 31

    Third bowl with:
    6) Origen Fish
    7) Origen Poultry
    8) Addiction Salmon Bleu (Grain Free)

    Fourth bowl with:
    9) RC Hair & Skin
    10) RC Pure Feline - Active
    11) RC Pure Feline - Beauty
    12) RC Exigent - Savour

*Aside from RC Maine Coon which they will chew (I can hear them crunching the kibbles), the other kibbles are gobbled and swallowed without chewing.

I use a Reverse Osmosis water filter for their drinking water. Aside from a water bowl, my boys love it when I use a plastic disposable 10 cc syringe to feed them several times a day.

Merlin loves to topple the water bowl especially whenever I refill the water in the bowl. Tried to use blu-tack to stick under the bowl to the floor but without much success.

My RC Maine Coon kibbles are hard... tried throwing a kibble or two against the wall and they bounce back hard too!
