    How cats drink

NY Times has article describing new research into how cats use their tongues to drink. Not at all how you might think (nor how dogs do it):
    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/12/sc...s.html?_r=1&hp

Original article appears in most recent issue of Science:
How Cats Lap: Water Uptake by Felis catus -- Reis et al., 10.1126/science.1195421 -- Science
    and summary:

Thanks for posting those - the NYtimes link was fascinating, I assumed cats used the liquid's miniscus (think I've spelled that wrong!) on their hooked tongues! Interesting they used the term 'elegant' to describe a cats drinking method; Freyja gets milk and vitamin drink all over the floor/worktop when she laps that up!
