    The virus that pork meat might contain is not dangerous for people. Besides, it's not that all pork meat will carry the virus; there's a chance that it does, so it's safer not to give pork to your cat in order not to take any unnecessary risks.

    And about being shocked when hearing about giving raw meat to cats... It might seem odd at first, but it's not that weird when you come to think of the fact that the original natural diet of cats has always been raw meat. Cats who go outdoors, will catch birds and mice and eat them raw as well.
