I had a similar episode with Alfie in March. He started drooling one day, and it got worse and worse and worse, and he was looking so sorry for himself and his ruff was a massive soggy mess, I took him down to the vet. They looked in his mouth and down his throat - nothing stuck. Poked a thermometer up his bottom - no temperature. Started talking about Liver Shunts and blood tests - starved him overnight, took him back next morning, they shaved a big lump out of his ruff (which has only just grown back - no shows all year! eek!) did all the blood tests - nothing. Got him home and he threw up the most humungus fur 'log' you ever saw! So £150 poorer but lesson learnt! Glad Buddy is ok. Hopefully he's fully on the mend now
