Thanks guys! lots to try!!! i have just failed again by following a work colleagues suggestion ( "a sure thing!", she said... HA! ) to put half a pill in a chunk of cheese. He loves cheese but seemed to know that this was no ordinary cheese and proceeded to lick it until he confirmed his suspicions. Now run out of tablets! I will get a couple more and try the grinding up in the small amount of food, although have tryed this before. Then ill do the wrapping in the towel technic......if this does not work I will give in and take him to see the vet nurse :s im sure she'll have it down in a couple of seconds lol! will let you know how I get on....thanks again for all the help, love this site x
p.s JanieB +jckKerrison , I know the spot on you mean...Advocat?? but have got a supply of both frontline and advantage so dont want to fork out anymore for spot ons at the moment but after all this I may well swap back to it when ive run out lol!
One more quick question!! do you guys regularly worm your cats even if they are indoors? Dexter is an indoor cat but has access to a secure back yard! thanks again for all your help x

The spot on I was thinking of was Profender it only does the worms..... I do tend to do mine twice a year because they do like catching flies or at least some try & succeed occasionally while others have more success at it but I don't feel that they need doing every three months as recommended even though thats the advice I have to give out at work. You could try the "nurses" way at home as a lot of the time it is being firm & sure, a lot of people are afraid to firmly tilt the head right back if you do that you are more than half way there as the mouth is wide open & as you do that if you push the cheeks in over the teeth they are going to bite themselves first before you so thats an unlikely event & from there it is pretty easy to drop the pill in,we normally average about half a dozen cats at work a year that we now say sorry not worth risking fingers as some are always going to beat you,my first MC got the better of me more than once but in latter years I got firmer & did win with ab's although she was one who would eat the Milbimax wormers so that was one less stress for us all,oh what fun, perhaps we need vidioes of everyones succssesful tablet dosing methods....!
