Yeah I love my tablet. spend 20 minutes writing reply and when you sen it it disappear :P
Thanks for reply
jckkerrison:
I know they are classed as semi long, but still they are long in comparison to normal "find me on a doorstep" cats which my missus had
I think I do not mind using brushes etc. it is just you described some and I still can't imagine it:P You know, as myself last time I used a hair brush was like 10 years ago when I had long hair and that was a cheapest crap brush as I did not bother if I will pull out my hair, I got enough of them:P (at least at this time of my life) but I am pretty sure cat will not appreciate this kind of grooming.
I will need to talk with breeder about this kitten. Bonus is she is very nice lady who lives like 5 miles from me, so I could adjust the dates, I think. As for the rescue kitten it is small family rescue and they do not have enough money to set them with all the vaccinations etc. We have been in BlueCross one and they said that, as we do not want to let cat run loose outside - only on leash, and we can't have a flap door, we can only have a cat with FIV because it need to stay inside. I love that idea... weird people. Maybe they want to gave you a cat, you will let it loose, it will be run over by a car, or killed by other cats, dogs, foxes and then you will be quickly back for another one? It is a plan of some kind...
I am just starting to build my own DIY castle tower scratching post with a bed on the top. Probably will get some extra one, but where I will put all that stuff plus the cat:P
I am reading about MC's and all the other cats and instead of finding answers there is only more questions... I always thought that cat on dry food is happy, now I have learned that there is some people who say that ready food is bad for the cats. There is some barf food (I always thought that barf is going out of the cat not in to the cat... but hey, always something new...), then that raw food is not healthy and a no no... I feel like I need to a couple of head bangs on the wall :P
Ah also, we need to transport this kittens home, and one of them is like 2 hours of driving away. So we thought that we could get this transporter for the beginning, and later it should be ok for the smaller cat

and also, something like a shoulder bag if we need to walk to the vet in case that car is not available. Is this a good choice?

Valdez, Love my tablet too! I have a habit of copying anything I write before I send it hahaha. The Maine coon is a large friendly majestic cat, it is still a cat. They play big and eat bigger, I like to think Ginger is smarter and more beautiful than the average alley cat, but she is a cat. So that being said, don't over think this too much. I recommend a good healthy diet, no gluten if possible. A combination of dry and wet, satisfies their water requirements. I use a slicker brush on Ginger and the hardest part is we start very seriously brushing and end up playing!our favorite game "take the brush from mom and bite it!" Like Jackie says lots of toys to stimulate them mentally and lots of love. Pretty much all you need and a few cat boxes. I am not sure about the feline FIV, Jackie probably can tell you more about that. I know I would not ever risk my Gingers health. Welcome to MCF and we all will want to see pictures!
This is a few months ago with Miss Ginger holding her brush hostage, "go ahead and try and take it, I dare you look!"

Thanks donnad
I am kind of over thinking guy. I think (again :P) it came with engineering degree:P
The FIV is out of question in here, it is just weird what they said in BlueCross. Well, there is plenty of unwanted kittens, and even more after xmas.
There will be pictures when I get them home
And I don't know... Miss Ginger on this pic looks more like saying "You don't have another one, do you ? " :P

Hi Valdez
You're so very lucky ... 2 babes - heaven! As everybody has said - loads of pics please!
Hopefully posting some links to brushes / combs on behalf of jckkerrison ...
First one is a slicker brush - they are brilliant ... you can find them at Zooplus, Amazon and at the vets ...
Soft Brush with Brush-Cleaner: Great Deals on Pet Brushes at zooplus
Amazon.co.uk: cat slicker brush: Pet Supplies Store
If you do a Google search for 'Slicker Brush for cats' you can find loads of links - I actually bought ours from the vets!
This comb is great too - Perfect Care Undercoat Dog Comb | Free P&P on orders £25+ at zooplus!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Trixie-De-Ma...+thinning+comb
Hopefully that will give you an idea of what's available ... because the MCs are so large you have to check out the dog section too!

Well Valdez I would say there is a "big hope" for you becoming a feline person once you have a MC in the household I personally had always been for canine & no one is more surprised than me at falling so deeply for these cats, the fact they are not only large in size but character too just wins you over......
With feeding whatever you feel happy with is the order of the day,if you do decide to feed dry make sure it is one of the good makes if you decide BARF is for you there are people who can give good advice on raw food feeding me I go the old fashioned way tinned food {not the most expensive on the market either} & a bit of dry food with it but it doesn't make up the main part of their meals.....
Just checked carrier & quite honestly would go for a wire one with lift up lid, very safe & if you are unlucky enough to have one that doesn't like going in or is unfortunate enough to hurt itself they are a lot easier for getting cat into....having so many I also have a fold away canvas {dog sized} carrier but would never put any cat into it before I was sure they were good safe travelling cats, all mine start off in a good ole reliable wire one......
Thanks to puzzles for posting for me add nail clippers to the grooming kit too .....
When are photos going to appear too please.....x
