We have cat proofed our garden as well but didn't extend the hight of the fences and still works really well. I have 2 moggies that were used to going out and I, like you, thought the MCs might not like seeing the others go out. Now all four will eventually be able to go out into the garden.

Oh dear that's awful poor puppy! I'm amazed they didn't know they weren't warts! We have lived here for 7 years now and I have never found a tick on my dogs but where I lived before my cavalier got them. Horrible things - I used to either paint them with clear nail varnish until they dropped off or pull them out with tweezers. You have to be extremely careful doing that though that you don't leave the mouth still hooked on. I groom them most days and go over them with my hands too. Guess we have been lucky here. We use Front Line - not sure if this is keeping them away or there just isn't many around here. Or maybe my dogs are just too fast for them

I will keep a close eye on Simba though.

Our two managed to pick up five of the horrible squatters today good job they went in the sea for a bit of a swim before they got in the car the squatters had all rushed to there backs so easily spotted (no pun intended ) so I got them all off before they attatched & then spent ages going over them both to make sure there were no more, I think its going to be a bad year for Ticks, its only April
