Ours don't play with the water but that may have something to do with they have had a fountain here since a couple of days after they came home so the water moves. however Hector paws the floor after eating for ages it seems - big paws on wood flooring = noisy!.
They have a hooded tray and they do paw and scrape at the hood for ages, Roxy seems to go into a trance as she is doing it and we have had to go and knock on the top of it to get her to stop! Before we had that tray they had a normal one and we had to give up on the tray liners as they used to paw and shred them to cover the tray.
