2.4kg is a very good weight for 13 weeks. My 3 kittens were all around 1.8kg at 12 1/2 weeks when they came to live with me. Check the weight comparison chart thread for others.
Do you leave dry food down all the time or is that a problem with also having an older cat too ? I can do that because all mine are the same age and all need to eat all the time
Good luck, and listen to the vet. Only worry if he starts loosing energy and gets too tired to play!
