    Hi Castlecat,

I haven't got my babies yet, have to wait till end of Feb :-(

BUT I did go and visit them last week when they were 5 weeks old :-) I also found out that I am actually getting 2 boys which is great as that is what I wanted. As for pics if you go to my other post there pics and videos of them :-)

    www.mainecoonforum.org/maine-coon-cat-chat/3464-my-mc-babies.html

Also their colouring will change from what it is in those pics, the breeder said one of them may even turn blue like his mother.

Thanks for replying. I have a kitten coming from majesticoon too. King Henry is the daddy but a different queen - Sophie. So half siblings! I am thinking about getting another kitten in a year or so - all being well - so I'm interested in the other adult cats. Your boys look gorgeous. I'm visiting on Saturday when she'll be 4 and a half weeks. When were your kittens born? Ours was 18th December. Have you bought anything for them yet?

I am a big star trek fan and stargate fan and have been thinking about names related to those programs. I also love the name Kahn for the boy and then Cleo for the girl but still not 100%.
Khan is a great name for a MC boy. When he finally gets you to the end of your tether with chewing on stuff, you can do your best Captain Kirk shout of "KHAAAAAANNNN!".

Ha small world!! Looks like King Henry has been a busy boy lol. My boys and their 6 sisters were born on the 3rd of December so yours must be the litter Lucille was talking about. I saw the pic of your wee babe, sorry for not posting been a bit hectic lately and what a cutie!! But your wee baby girl looks very similar to my 2 boys though which is nice, but if lucille is right then one of the boys could turn a lot darker and maybe even blue which will actually be good because its going to be fun telling them apart lol!!

As for have I got anything for them yet, oooohhhh yes lol, pretty much got everything I need now. I just have to get some grass and the food and litter nearer the time. I'll list the big bits I have gotten them:

Cat Tree/Climbing frame: Leopet® KBD009/2blau Cat Tree Scratching Post Kitten Climbing Excercise Activity Centre Sisal Height 2.30m! (Blue): Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies

I actually got this straight from Jago24 in Germany as it was out of stock on Amazon and I didn't know if they would have it back on Amazon so ordered direct and it got here very quickly and looks really good in blue.

Cat Carriers: Atlas Wire Door Open Top Cat and Small Dog Carrier by Ferplast | Pets at Home

These are massive carriers and I especially wanted top opening ones, they come with a nice cushion and I then got 2 nice blankets off of Zooplus to also go in them, plus petsathome are doing a very good offer on the Atlas 30!!

Cat Litter Trays: Catit Jumbo Hooded Cat Pan/ Litter Tray / Litter Box, 57 x 46 x 43cm - White Tiger Pattern: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies

They are big but there not very long so not sure if that's going to be a problem and they are snazzy too lol.

Cat Tree Post: Cat Scratching Posts

This thing is MASSIVE lol, have a look on my other post for a picture of how big it is!! Can't see them pushing this over for a while lol.

Those are the big bits and then I have got some other bits and pieces for them

King Henry is indeed quite a boy! I am humbled by your shopping! So far I've just got a cat carrier and ordered some named bowls. That's it! That activity centre is HUGE! Lucky cats. I'm not sure my husband would be too impressed with it!!! Are you going to have yours as indoor cats?

Well I only went on a bit of a shopping spree because of the sales and Zooplus were doing some good deals, especially that cat tree!! And yeah the activity center is huge but as I have 2 kittens coming and will be at work during the day I didn't want them to get bored and for £100 it was a good buy I think. I like the idea of named bowls though, unfortunately I have already bought my 3 bowls :( I wanted plastic bowls as I find them to wash up compared to the metal ones I have tried and these are pretty big bowls so should be good for ages.

I am keeping the boys as indoor cats as I don't want the worry of when they are out that they might get hurt or stolen. But I am going to build them an outdoor cattery when I have the time and money and I am also hoping to get them used to going on a harness so at the weekends I can take them out and about hehe

Keep us update though on your little girl as it will be great seeing her and my boys grow up

I have been inspired and had a big ordering session yesterday I think you're right to invest . . . I think these things are going to get a lot of use! Hope the waiting's not too painful. We're off to see our kitten this afternoon. Will look out for too sci-fi kittens whilst we're there!

Please be wary of plastic bowls...if they get a scratch ditch them.....its a one in I don't know how many hundreds/thousands chance, may never ever happen again {tale in a post on here somewhere} but know of an animal that was about to be put to sleep after investigation after investigation could find no reason for its illness & a chance remark made someone say well what have you changed, rack your brains as there must have been something, owners light came on but they thought they were being stupid the only thing they could think was over the last couple of weeks in a last ditch effort to find something that would help their cat they had been feeding it off of a saucer instead of its "plastic dishes",they said the dish was looking scratched & as they thought they were going to loose him hadn't bought new ones....that was a close shave & I have never used plastic dishes since. Something was coming through once the surface was marked that the cat was obviously allergic too.... I know their are more cats fed out there with plastic bowls than any other type but.....!!!!! x

Litter trays....don't forget the under bed storage boxes, come in all sizes & ideal for MC's as you can get longer deeper ones plus a lot lot cheaper & easier to clean....... We started off with hooded trays but had trouble with one using outside the tray but was fine once lid was taken off but with our big boys they used to be cramped up even in the biggest tray we could find but now they can relax & read the paper too while they toilet if they wish......

Just another FYI. We had a Himalayan that had a case of kitty acne from using plastic bowls. We've used stainless and glass/ceramic since that experience. Happy shopping!
