Hi there, just wanted to give some encouragement on raw feeding, as I have been doing it successfully now for nearly 3 years. You are right, it is the next best thing to them going out and killing their own small creatures to eat. In fact, some raw feeders try to replicate this by using the 'raw prey model', i.e., sourcing frozen mice, chicks etc to feed their cats. This is a step too far for me personally, so I use a couple of local raw food suppliers for bone-in minces, chicken, etc, plus my local butchers for heart, tongue and offal.
It's a question of making sure you achieve the correct balance for them, and finding out what they like and where to source it locally or online.
There is a lot of debate about the pros and cons of raw feeding, I would just say you are on the right track and please do your research first. A great place to start is here:
