Just in case you are not aware of this...onions are quite toxic to cats, and chives are in the onion family and so contain lower levels of the same toxic compound (garlic has a related one). I know from experience that a brief munch isn't going to do anything to a cat, but you probably should not let Hank gnaw repeatedly on your chives.
