    Just another quick thought if you put anything like that in fridge overnight {still in the packaging}will help kill the smell of the product...!
    That is the simplest solution but in a multi cat household you have to make sure the cats aren't grooming each other for a few hours.

    With mine, I wrap them snuggly in a towel, cradle them in my arm like a baby, pill in other hand I pop open their mouth, drop the pill to the back of the tongue and hold the muzzle shut until they swallow. Often I have to allow the mouth to slightly open again before they swallow otherwise they just lay there holding the pill in their mouth.

    I had a pill popping syringe thing at one time but to be honest it was more of a pain in the ass to use than just dropping the pill from my fingers. My fingers don't go in their mouth at all.
